I realize this is a "for sale" post but I hope you won't mind since this is an unusual circumstance. My 2000 Ranger 619 with a 2000 Mercury optimax 200 hp was severely damaged in a fire as it was sitting beside my office when the office burned to the ground last November. There is a good opportunity for someone to turn a tidy profit if they would like to fix up what's left. The boat is destroyed, except for some parts that could be reusable, like the jack plate, hardware, etc. The motor seems to be in pretty good shape except that the hood was on fire and some of the wiring and computer stuff inside probably needs to be replaced. The trailer is repairable, it would need a new fender on one side, some sandblasting and painting, and two wheels/tires. The 15 hp Merc 4-stroke kicker may not be salvageable at all, hard to tell, the lower unit is probably okay. The electronics, trolling motor, etc. are badly damaged and may or may not have salvageable parts.
I think someone could turn a tidy profit if they want to take on this project. I do not have the time nor the inclination to tackle this, I get a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach every time I look at it. It's located in North Central Iowa, and I would recommend bringing a flatbead to get it since the boat itself was on fire and the fiberglass is weak. I'd like to have about $3500 for it. If a person wants to use what they can off of it, and feels like putting some time into it, I think you could triple your money at least for your effort.
