I'm new to this, planning a special trip for my hubby this summer. We've always wanted to explore Sturgeon Lake area. I booked a week at an outfitter's up there and thought a guide for a few days would be a treat for his 40th birthday present.
Anyone got any suggestions????

I would check with the resort owner. Tell them what you have in mind, I am sure they would recommend a guide that was familar with the area & would also take special care of their customers.
Have a great trip.

I assume you mean the Sturgeon Lake north of Ignace about 40 miles.
I have used a guide for the past 4 years--15 times. 2 times each year with my wife. We have newver failed to fill up with 3 species; walleyes, northern and lake trour each time but 1 in 2 days.
This area you need a guide--theres lakes up there he will want to try besides Sturgeon Lake.
The guides name is Jim Krosschell. e mail address I have is;
northlandsadventures@yahoo.com He lives up there.
You can contact me also if you want more information. I am 73 and have been to Candada some 150+ times, I guess.
