I just tried to order 6 items on line from Cabela's. 5 came up as having to be back ordered. I said "okay" on the ones I wasn't in a big hurry to receive. Then another screen came up saying that they would not back order unless I increased the total purchase amount of each item. These were, in my opinion, fairly mainstream products that they would receive many orders for. Anyone else having the same problem?

Ron, I had the same trouble ordering a common item that I did not feel I should have to order "in bulk" to recieve. I did not "upgrade" to their request and I purchased elsewhere. I hope someone from Cabelas reads this because I do not feel that I should have to order their specified quantity to make a purchase. If that is the way they want to do buisness, then they should state that in the print. I guess they probably don't care, but I feel that it is not my fault if they have a product on backorder and I have sent a request to purchase the product. Why should I have to buy twice or three times the amount I want just to get it? Go somewhere else to purchase your item. Don't let them force you into buying more than you need. Just my thoughts.

I have had a boat cover on backorder for about 3 months now. They keep telling me its on the way. Yeah right... time to find a different merchant. Cabela's needs to get there #hit together!

After gnashing my teeth last night, I phoned Cabelas's customer service. They indicated that they have the minimum on back orders so that the shipping cost doesn't become disproportionate to the cost of the item ordered. If you want the item regardless, phone customer service and they will override the system and order it for you.
