I'm ordering a new boat and it comes standard with an in-dash flasher. I have a choice of Lowrance or Zercom. Anyone have experience with either of these units? All comments appreciated!

I purchased a new Skeeter last year and had the same option.I choose the Zercom.I had one in my Lund and also on a portable ice fishing box.I have never had a problem with any of them.I like the 0-40 depth scales on the Zercom(I'm told only Mille Lacs guys think this way)I think the Lowrance is the same but not sure.I also run a Lowrance LMS 160 and an X-85 without any interference between them and the Zercom.I've learned from ice fishing that the Zercom has great defination and target seperation.Best of all the Zercom has no moving parts, nothing to break! As a result the unit uses very little battery power.I would make the same choice again when it comes to flashers.Hope this helps.

I'll second the Zercom. Great Backlighting too.

have to go with lowrance 100%...too many problems with the zercom from too many friends and pro's who have problems with the zercom reading at any kind of speed over 50 mph and cold weather...this is on quite a few different brand boats and experienced guys. it's not a setup problem. my experience, it's tough to adjust the zercom running at speed (small buttons) where the knob for the lowrance is much easier to adjust while running...imho...i have used lowrance flashers for more than 12 yrs..console and bow mount units. using zercoms on buddies boats over the past 3 or 4 yrs hasn't shown me where there units even compare.. fishing known water/depths/conditions etc...
