Is there a lot of overlap between the books? Are they subatantially different? If so, how? Thanks.

I've got both. Precision Trolling has a good overview of different trolling methods up front (first 20-25 pages from memory). The bulk of PT is the dive curve data for specific crank baits, dipseys, jets, snapweights, etc.
I'd say PT is more of a reference guide that you want to have in the boat.
Top to Bottom is more of an actual "book" with chapters by many different guys on different techniques. Something to read while we're waiting on Spring to get here.
Both are good.
