We,re headed out to a resevoir Sun. The ice has melted about 100 yrds off the shoreline, we are gonna try it from shore with our usual tactics, medium shiners ,floating jigheads, on lindy rigs.
Does anyone have any advice for these early spring conditions. Water temps. 36 degrees, emerald clear, natural forage: Shiners, and other small bait fish. should we fish deep water, or shallow water??

I'll just be happy to be able to wet my line in my favorite Resevoir.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

not sure were your at but the res i fish is hardy dam in mi and i do the oppsite of most people and i fish the 15 to 30 ft water with good luck, i like to use bottom bouncers and harness and bottom bouncers and shallow stick baits with the stick baits getting the bigger fish most of the time. this way im covering more water and looking for active fish, i love jig fishing but the spring i just like to cover a lot of water. hope this helps ya out and good luck and enjoy your fishing.
