Going a week trip. Whats the best line to spool up with? thinking about 8lb silver thread flourcarbon? any suggestions?
I live up here in the great white north and when I am fishing walleye I always use Berkley Sensation - 8 pound....it has a great feel to it, low stretch and low memory.
Give it a try I think you will agree.

I had great success with Seagar (sp?) Fluorocarbon. 6 lb test. Worked like a charm. A little more expensive, but well worth it in my humble opinion.
Always used good ol' Trilene XL 6lb. test for jiggin' walleyes and 12lb. test Trilene Sensation on m trolling rig.

With the exception of very clear water, Have had the best luck with Berkley fireline 14 lb test--6 lb diameter line. Perfect for jigging--no stretch--quick hookset. Perfect for trolling cranks--fish hook themselves. Same with lindy rigs. Don't set the hook to hard. With virtually no stretch, and 14 ld test, it's easy to rip the hook right out of the mouth.
In gin clear water, I would use Berkley Vanish florocarbon or similar line. 6 lb for jigging and 8 to 10 lb for all other applications.
