I was looking for a web sight for LOKI NETS (I still am, so if anyone has it, please forward it to me. Thanks) and I ran accross a sight called ( NoFishing.Net ) so I had to take a look. I could not believe my eyes! They were trying to get the boy scouts to de-merit fishing. The sight went on to claim that eating fish is BAD for you, that studies show that fish FEEL pain, and that Jesus did not eat fish, and was probably a vegetarian. There was a lot more wild*** claims that they were making, but I couldn't take it anymore!
Just thought this was always a bunch of hype. I hope you guys check it out and then realize like I HAVE that they are 'OUT' there, and they ARE trying to eliminate our sport.
I have never been one to judge people for their beliefs, but this group is really testing me. I just don't think they should try and force their beliefs on the rest of us!!!!!
Hey Jim,
I haven't checked out this site yet, however when I was in Greenbay for the RCL, PETA was there asking us to justify why we can use the the natural outdoors to make a living. There was also a camera crew there doing interviews regarding this topic.

Last year PETA put up a billboard near us in Oshkosh WI showing New York mayor Rudy Juliani(sp)with a milk mustache saying "Got Prostate Cancer". They also had people in downtown Oshkosh in fish costumes protesting fishing. I view these people as a form of entertainment. I remember when all we had to protest was the Vietnam War and Civil Rights. It's a good thing we have now moved on to the really important issues
The Real story

Peta is a bunch of fat, hairy, manless, bitter women and a bunch of touchy feely men with small, nay, diminuative penises trying to justify their worthless exisitence.

I like the real story that's a good one. I'm a member of PETA. PEOPLE EATING TASTY ANIMALS.
These so called other PETA clowns are just that CLOWNS, they are actually quite comical though I find.

Even though they are clowns, clowns in great numbers can influence politicians. Sad as it is. Don't take them too lightly. The "anti" movement continues to gain strength in organization. It is serious in its attempt to gain membership in such groups as the Conservation Congress. It is making its voice heard in halls and meeting places around the state.
We'd be in much better shape if Wisconsin would pass legislation amending our constitution guaranteeing sportsmans right to hunt and fish.

I refrain from hitting PETA sites as I don't feel the need to give them the ammo when they speak to politicians of "look at the # of hits on our website, see how many supporters we have"..
Stay informed, but best to do it via media where your attention can't be misrepresented.
Eddy, thanks for the phone number and address! I've been gone for a little while and finally got a chance to reply. Thanks again.

Our democracy and the bill of rights guarantees everyone the right to express their opinions. As sportsmen, we don't have to resort to name calling- or we're just as intolerant as we accuse them of being.

Greg gb. You are correct about their attempts to be taken seriously. Although their numbers may not be great their pockets are very deep. Plenty of high profile and wealthy people are supporters (Bob Barker, Alec Baldwin, Tony LaRussa etc.) and most are hippocrites.
LaRussa is paid handsomely to manage a team in a sport that uses leather for shoes, gloves, baseball coverings, jacket sleeves. It's spectators consume huge amounts of hot dogs, ice cream, pizza with cheese and pepperoni. Baldwin is a blow hard anyhow......wasn't he going to leave the country if Bush got elected? He made millions for his role in the movie "The Edge". He and Anthony Hopkin's characters killed animals for food to survive being stranded in the bush. They even killed a Kodiak bear that was hunting them with a trap and spear. I guess his principles are not deep enough to take precidence over his paycheck otherwise he would have passed on the role.
I've had the law called on me a few times while hunting by antis making false accusations that I was trespassing. I even had a person come with the sheriff's deputy to file a complaint because I had to kill a coyote that had his head stuck in a drain pipe. He actually proclaimed to be an animal rights activist. I looked at his leather shoes, pointed to them, and told him to re-read his handbook because he wasn't a very convincing one.
I keep track of their antics in farm publications because of their stance on meat and milk production. One of my friends is a dues paying member so he can recieve all their BS and he updates us at our monthly Pheasants Forever chapter meetings.
The idea about a bill in the state's legislature to guarantee hunting and fishing rights is a good one. Ohio had a bill that has died in committee that basically said the ODOW would be the sole manager of wildlife in Ohio. This was to intended to prevent any more attempts to ban any kind of hunting or fishing via ballot referendum. I would like to see this bill resurrected and passed.

But, isn't also our right to call names? They sure do it about us. And I cannot remember the last time an angler or hunter ran up to an anti and sprayed them with carrot juice and yelled, "Veggies feel pain!" Although I do know someone who had a fur coat ruined by an anti throwing blood and creosote on the jacket while screaming, "Fur is dead! Wear it now you murderer!" And come to think of it we don't go to schols or McDonalds and harass children, to the point of terrifying them into tears, with our point of view. I agree we need to stay civil, focused and organized. However, we need to do more. Every one of us should be in or supporting an organization that will help guaranty our national heritage. The anti wacko's have very deep pockets. Many are the Hollywood elite, or wanna be's. Idle rich and upper crust types with nothing but time on their hands. I watched Bambi, but I still hunt deer. We are upper level predators, but predators with compassion and reasoning minds. We do have aresponsibility to the ecology and our planet, but that does not mean striving for our planet to be one big Disney movie. Heck, even the Bible is on our side. Biology is on our side, we have teeth that only omnivores have we can eat plants, true. But we also have incisors, teeth for grabing and tearing flesh. The anti's cannot deny that.
WHOOOO WHOOOP WHOOOOOOOEEEEYYY!!!!!
