I know people that have stayed there and they said it was nice. I would also check out Huddles Resort at Whipholt on Leech Lake. The owner ownes two resorts togather and he is a great guy. He also has a protected harbor which is nice. Check it out

Stonty point is a great resort as are many other on the lake.
Leech can fish great all year long.
Sometime in may or june - there will be some pretty good may flay hatches. When these occur, try to get on a different spot on the lake or a different lake where they aren't hatching. When they are hatching - the bite is awfully tough.

Becuse of the size of Leech, and the multi nature of Leech -- it would be money well spent if you hired a good guide on your first day on the lake. Talk to your resorter for a list of names and have a good guide reserved for the first day or two of your stay.

You will learn so much from the guide, and he will put you on fish right away and eliminte a lot of unproductive water. Leech is so big - that for the first time there -- a bit of help is a grat idea.

Take care end enjoy.

p.s.
Take along jigs, three ways, bottom bouncers, and some crank baits. With this combination, you will surely catch fish.

Leech is also a great norther, muskie, large mouth bass, and perch fishery.
Also, there are some huge crappies in the lake.
So, if you are having trouble connecting with walleys - take up some of the other species. Lots of action for lots of different presentations.

Take care

I have not stayed at Stoney Point Lodge, but I have camped at the Federal Campground on Stoney Point several times. It can not be beat for location as it is centrally located on the lake and is right in the middle of several of the best spots on the lake, no matter what time of the season.

If you find that the Stoney Point resorts of choice are booked for the dates you want to go, check out Steamboat Bay Resort. Great place, nice protected cove and easy access to most of the lake regardless of wind direction.

I have stayed there a half dozen times and have no complaints.

Several good resorts on Leech. I'm not sure about particulars on Stoney Point, but the Traders bay area is good to stick with for location. Easy access to all of the lake, and it is BIG. Listen to REW as usual and get a guide early in the week as the lake takes some learning to get around. Leech Lake Guide Coalition can set you up with one of several good guides. I personally only know Ted Gwen who is a great guy to spend the day with. If you consider other resorts look into Brindley's Harbor (trader's bay), great folks, absolutely customer driven, protected harbor, and they even take the fish out of your livewell - clean them - butcher wrap them - label and freeze for you. What a deal!

Have fun, it's a great lake
