Im thinking about buying ram rod holders for my new boat.Is any one out there using them? which ones 2000 or original?will they hold tight while pulling boards? Are they ease to get rods in and out of. At $40 bucks a piece I would like to know if they are worth it or if i should buy something different. Thanks for your help.

Howdy,
If you want strength, go with the Original RAM #117. I think they are $40 per holder no matter where you look. I have looked everywhere. I do use the RAM tubes for my dipsey fishing & they are strong.

Question- Has anyone ever had a problem with RAM 2000 Rod Holders breaking? I see they have a lifetime warranty but that is small consolation for loss of a trolling rig. Thanks!

I have used them for a year. I use them on 8 1/2' rods using in-line boards, 3 way rigging, and straight line trolling, and love them. They set up higher than the originals which works very well for rods with longer butt ends. In and out is quick and easy. The work well with all length of rods. I use four of them and they set up well with flush mount fittings.

I love the original Ram rod holders. I have been using them for three years now and they will hold anything. The holders are so versatile because of the round a mount system. I couple mine with Tite-Loks track system and it is fast and simple to move things around.

Good luck and Keep the Line Tight,
