I would like to try flutterspoons ahead of my crawler harnesses this year when we fish Lake Erie and Saginaw Bay. What type of spoon and what size spoon works for this application? I will be using bottom bouncers and snap weights. How far ahead of the spinner do you run the spoon? What colors work best? Any information would be helpful. Thanks in advance!!

I use Luhr Jensens Diamond King #4 mostly in silver. Put a swivel-snap on each end after removing the hooks. On the small end attach your fishing line and the harness to the big end. I use about 24" leaders on my harness and 14# Big Game line. Ahead of the spoon about 18" I place a 2oz Snap-Weight. The next project is to figure how far to let the line out before placing it on a board and the best way is trial and error. Keep using different lead lengths until you start catching fish. Good Luck, see you at both places.

Go to www.offshoretackle.com and you'll be able to read about them. Basically, they're a weight that snaps onto the line with a clip allowing you to achieve greater depth with than a bait achieves alone.
