I would like to hear any and all comments from those that have used both!! I need to deside, the rod will be used as ... A deep-(80ft.) laker jigging rod,and also used to troll deep-(20ft.) cranks in a river for big eyes. PLEASE only comments on these rods!! THANKS TO ALL!!

I'm fairly certain that those who know way more than me are going to tell you that you don't need a $300.00 rod for trolling cranks and the same goes for banging suspended lakers but hey if you got the dough and want to spend it why not go for the best and get the GLX

Loomis has, at many stores that handle them, demo rods. Might be worth checking out. Pretty discrete difference between the IMX and the GLX.

I'm a st croix man myself and have used neither, but still wish to offer some insight.

From what I gather, the GLX is only marginally lighter and more sensitive than the IMX. It's definately a nicer rod, but I don't think it's $100 nicer.

Although, I think if you were to step on the GLX in the boat, as opposed to the IMX, it will probably make you cry $100 louder.

As you can tell by the name I use the rods almost exclusively They are the best. Period. I've got several IMX's and a few GLX's. I'd prob. go with the IMX if I were you. You will find little noticable difference in the weight, and the IMX tends to be a little tougher rod. GL3 would be tougher yet and maybe a little slower in the tip (not much). Just depends on what you will be happy with. No matter what I think you'll be pleased. Good Luck!

I have both, use for jigging, personally, can't tell the difference, stay w/IMX for difference in cash.
