Stezostedion vitreum man

I own both a Lowrance X-65 and a X-75. Both fine units. I carry the X-65 on the console of my boat. During periods of long, sunny exposure my X-65 will undergo "sunstroke". It changes to a darker color and is hard to read. Periodically, it will switch back and forth between its normal grayish color to a darker greenish color. I've read where if you put a towel over it during these times, or have a sunvisor, it will help prevent this condition. Unfortunately, this is not always the most convenient way to go, especially when moving from point A to point B at higher speeds.
My question is this: has anyone else, owning these same units, experienced this phenomenon? Does anyone out there have a solution to solve this problem, other than what was mentioned above? Thank You.
Remember to keep your eyes open and your feet dry.
