How well does the Pinpoint trolling motor work when there are big boulders on a piece of structure? If there are rocks anywhere from 1'-4' in size, and full of those boulders, wouldn't that affect how the motor will follow that depth contour?
Thanks for any responses...

You can adjust how aggressively the motor tries to follow a given depth.

There is some hysterisis in the system so it doesn't immediately react to every change in depth, thus the 1 or 1.5 seconds of depth change as you pass over a rock is damped out. On the other hand, if it is a large rock several yards across, the motor will steer off of it to acquire deeper water and go around. You can adjust how "sensitive" and quick you want this to be. Obviously the automagic part of the system can be confused a consistently uneven bottom (is that an oxymoron?) but that is when you go to mash the "Manual" key and use the footpedal and act like you have a MinnKota. <BSEG>

It will react to boulders, but with the size you are talking about, the difference would be negligible. It will go around boulders obviously, but I never thought of that as a bad thing to be honest.
