Reels, how was your trip last week to Minaki? I will be back in September. Hope to get my smallmouth fix when I fish the lower French River in early July.

Hey guys,

Just got back. Another fun week. Gosh, it goes by way too fast!

Fishing was good, getting better everyday.

Rasberry abd Wildedge (Bowers) werer producing fish. You had to have wait it out, for every 10 little guys, you get a 5 plus. We put 18 fish between 5 and 9 lbs in the boat, all released.

It was hard to find 17's for lunch. Lots of small, lots of 20-21's. It looks like a year class or two is missing-

Smallmouth starting to move into the bays. Mine, Hidden, and North Duck bay produced well.

Northeast side of Big Sand was great for casting, as the water was warm, and wind was light except for two days. Big big northern on the north shore. My son put took a 40" Pike that hit at the boat. What a thrill for a 12 year old! We were able to take video of the fight, boat and relase. It was a lot of fun!

Thats about it. The two days we had wind, it was very ugly. A few boats got sunk and docks ripped off Monday when a Microburst his us Monday morning. I spent two hours bailing my boat to keep it from sinking. Tip of the day- Point your boat out away from shore. I knew that, but really didn't think of it, as the weather was so nice the two days before. This just came out of the blue and 4 foot waves came close to swamping my boat.

If you need more info, feel free to e-mail me.

Yes, they are still shallow, in the bays. We saw them swimming almost everywere shallow. Water temo is about 54. The surface temp in the bays are about 65 once the sun warms them up, but it can get blow away very quickly.

One guy in our cabin caught a 49" Muskie off the dock by our cabin.
