small out board question

now i know most of you guys run the bigger rigs but i have question regarding my smaller outfit.

i have been reading with interest the disscusion about how different props effect performance. my 25hp merc has the factory prop and i push a 16ft lund( i know i should upgrade but not possible at this time) my question is is it worth putting a different prop on my machine? would it make any difference with the smaller HP?

The prop that comes with the small engine is a good all the round prop unless your running a very heavy or very light load. The thing you need to watch is the condition (bent or worm down blades)or if is was repaired at a second rate prop shop. Very often they will grind too much off and the diameter becomes to small and can cause the engine over rev. Ive seen boats like yours that have caught a heck of a lot more fish than I have!!!!
