I thougth some of the Great Lakes fisherman would get a honk out of this. Found it in a gourmet magazine.
"April 22nd, in the town of Arbo, Spain, is celebrated the Festa De La Lamprea"
"Arbo, a medieval town in northern Spain, is renouned for its lampreys - long eel-like fish that feed on the blood of other fish in the nearby Mino River. This festival exalts a species that is becoming increasingly rare. (Maybe an opportunity here) It also celebrates traditional lamprey dishes, among them a stew with eel, onion, garlick, herbs, saffron, tomato, white wine, and sherry, served with roasted red bell peppers. Sit outdoors and enjoy your stew, washed down with lamprey-compatible local wines.
