Anyone out there who has been using these have any thoughts on how good they are? Worth the money? Or get what you pay for, buy the Daiwas? Also are the inner-flow rods any good? Thanks!!!

I have used the D10W (not the digital) reel for the last couple of years, and think it is a good reel for the money. I bought mine when they were on sale for $69. each, and feel that is a fair price for the reel. I also use the Okuma line counter reels and think the Cabelas reels are as good or better than the Okumas. I would think someone will tell you buy the Diawa reels, and that is understandable, but for most people that use this type of reel on occasion, the Cabelas and Okumas are enough reel.

Last spring I bought two of the digital Cableas line counter combos -- with the interline rod. Sorry to say that on the first trip with the outfits that the reels had problems. The rods are still going strong and I have since picked up 4 more.

The reels both had their anti reverse go out in the middle of a fight with a good size coho. It was a new experience fighting a 12# fish on a levelwind by basically backreeling. The lcd readout on one of the units also had moisture in it by the end of the day.

According to the writeups the reels have in the current catalogs, Cabelas has had them redone for this year -- new drags plus other improvements. Can't say whether it fixed them or not. I really liked the size and design of the reel, but I'll have to hear some real good reports before I'll buy again. I went out and replaced them with Diawa SG27LC's and have had no problems.

I do like the interline rods a lot. Nice even bend and no eyes to get tangled. I personally did not have any problems, but others I have talked to do not like the interlines if fishing in waters with spiny water fleas. In Lk Ontario I guess they are real bad and will clog up the rod blank to the point people have lost fish because it jams at the tip. Both the Diawa and the Cabelas have the problem.

Bought two combos last year, innerflow rods and digital reels. The reels both broke down the first trip, one line counter failed and one drag failed. Took them back and exchanged for Diawas- much better. The rods are fine, very nice to stow in the boat, not having guides to catch things. They are a little more grief to rig line on, but don't do that often.

I have had the D20W for 2 full summers and they have worked great. I paid $79 for it. It has performed very well for me.

I bought two of these reels a year ago and they have performed flawlessly for me. I fish more than 50 times a year. Would buy two more in a minute.

I have bought 6 of the Cabela's reels from 1996 - 1998 and have since replaced them with the Diawa's. Reason being, Clickers went bad on 2, reset buttons knocked off, if the handle is not positioned just right you cannot release the line, inconsistent drag. In general I was ticked off at myself for not spending the extra $20 bucks per reel in the first place. I should have known better, my dad had used DIawa for years salmon fishing and the big kings and coho's are tough on reels and the Diawa's never fail.
