GARMIN 240

I read on a past post that someone out there was having trouble reading their 240 at higher speeds. They solved the problem by using the pitch plate that comes with it. My question is: which way did you install the plate? with the rear of the transducer pointing down or up. Thanks

point the rear of the transducer down so it doesn't create a cavitation underneath it, no water no signal.
