Can you recommend some good artists who do walleye art? I like some of Larry Tople's work on the cover of In-Fish Publications but can't seem to find any prints or originals anywhere. Any suggestions appreciated.

My all time favorite right up there with Larry Tople is John Q Wright "The River Moon". There is a series of 3 now and they get your heart a pumping looking at them. Great work!

Another guy who's got a few prints out there is Mark Susino (sp?)

I too have looked for Larry Topple prints and would appreciate knowing where to pick any of them up if anyone knows anything.

Thanks in advance for any homework somebody does on our behalf.

Steve:

Where can we see your work? I'd potentially be interested in some prints as well.

Yep Eddy, that's him. Steve is an excellent artist and muskie guide. I have one of his prints, and have seen some of his other artwork. I can't wait to see what he may have been working on all winter!
I talked to him last night and he said that his website should be up and running sometime around the end of May or early June.

JimmyJ...

We commissioned Terry Doughty (the guy who did the Miller mirrors you see everywhere) for prints of muskies and walleye and still have some left. If you're interested, drop me an email.

I have the set of 6 limited edition Larry Tople prints that were advertised in In-Fisherman a few years ago. Several are no longer available. There is a walleye,SM bass, LM bass, musky, northern and a crappie print. They are all signed and have matching numbers. I would like to sell as a set. You can contact me at: wayne@lindylittlejoe.com

Hey BE,

Have you seen Nevada Miller's work? He's a 17 year-old kid from the Flasher ND area that's doing wildlife art - he just did a walleye within the last year - His website is: ndmillerart.com Check it out!

I took a peek at his site. I like his Cannonball River Crossing painting as well as the others.

A lot of artist pop up out in that country it seams like, good ones too.

i wonder what it would cost to get a painting done off of a photograph? when i was a child of 10 years old i caught a 13pound 15 oz. walleye in the winter through a 6" hole i have it mounted but have always been disappointed that i didnt catch it in the spring. from what dick sternberg said in one outdoor new arcticle "a fish of that size may well have been 2-3lbs. heavier with eggs in the spring" nice catch but it could've been a record!

Hey B.E., Thanks for the link but I could not find anything on the site about what artwork might be available, or is my computer illiteracy showing! Jim

yes that sounds about right BE! and isnt it a shame that the minnesota record was caught in a area that is now restricted to fishing until later than the regular fishing opener? oh well it made a very nice mount and i am very greatful to the fishing gods. my parents weren't long on money in those days either but they got my fish mounted for me, THANKS MOM AND DAD!
