I just bought a used Sylvan 17' Pro Select with a 115 hp Mariner. The problem is when I'm moving at high speed I lose the bottom picture on my locator. I have a Lowrance LMS 160. At about 25 mph I get the reading but at 45 to 50 and planed I lose it. I get a numerical reading but I lose the bottom picture. I have lowered the transducer and moved it to the other side of the boat and it still did not help. If anyone has a Sylvan and does not have this problem I sure would like to talk to you. Any help on the position of the transducer would be most welcomed.

Thanks,

Ron

Pinpoint will do it. With your unit, try tipping the transducer more foreward. You are going fast enough that the signal returns after you have gone past, so you need to send it ahead so that when it returns, your boat will not be past that point.

Mac,

Thanks, that point was not even in my world of ideas of why I'm having a problem. That's why I ask the group here.

Have a nice year and God Bless,

Ron
