Would like to throw medium sized Ralalas on a 6'6" medium light baitcasting rod. What is a good light weight baitcasting reel that will cast light lures well?

In the past I have used the Shimano Curado 200 for this purpose. These reels have worked extremely well. This year I picked up the new 100 size Curado. Since I like to palm the reel, I think this size will work even better. These would be my choices. However, I think the main thing to consider is the size of the reel. A low profile will be more comfortable to cast all day due to generally being lighter weight and fitting in the hand better. See if your local dealer will let you try a couple of different reels for a day or two. That way you can make a better educated decision. Good Luck! Fred

The Curado is nice. Shimano Chronarch is fabulous. I just picked up a Daiwa Procaster Z103 which I like better than the Curado. Lots of very nice reels to do what you asked. The bass guys have really pushed the market toward some very nice baitcasters. The lower profile reels are in my opinion nicer for this application.
