I was looking for some advice on where a good place to fish with my wife and parents the week of September 17th?? I have been to winne a few times in September with mixed results. I would like to fish a lake with more structure or bays. My Dad prefers to fish northerns, while I prefer walleyes. Some jumbo perch would keep the wife happy. Plan on staying in the state of Minnesota. Thinking of Leech or Kabatogama. We will have 2 17 foot deep V boats with 60 horse motors. A lodge with some nice lounging experience would be nice if the women don't want to fish all the time. Any advice on these two lakes or another one will be greatly appreciated..
Thanks in advance and remember spring is almost here!!!!!!

For me it would be no question -- I'd head to Leech. Walker has a good clearing house thru their chamber of commerce (also a good guide assoc on Leech). For my money, it's hard to beat Brindley's Harbor Resort for both the resort itself and its great location. With 17 footers, there would always be some water you could fish, even if there were a sustained strong wind.
Echo Cisco on Brindley's. Paris & boys do a good job, great boat harbor, very clean and fairly centrally located for fishing. Far enough out to think twice before going to the bright lights of Walker although if you haven't been there, a trip through Reeds is interesting.

There is no place like Leech lake at that time. The walleyes are feeding heavily and I can not remember when mid september was not hot for eyes.
