I'll be doing some tying, too. In the middle of last season, I switched over to Seaguar 10lb for all of my live bait rigs. I purchased the line, not the leader material. I believe the Vanish is probably just as good. Prior to this, I tied most of my snells with Trilene XT, either clear or green.
I had very good success with the Seaguar line in the clear water, slow presentations while my partner was having little or no success with other mono. I am convinced that this puts more fish in the boat during the tough conditions. I use it all of the time, now.

Berkley vanish is 100% fl. carbon. It says it on the pack. You could even get buy with 8lb. if your a finesse guy as Vanish or Flouro in general is very abrasion resistant and won't break down like mono. Make sure to wet your knot well because another thing with Flouro is it won't absorb water as well and you need to sinch your knots.
