Bass Pro Shops Sale

Just received the Spring Fishing Classic ad, and a couple of "specials" caught my eye, the BPS Pro Qualifier XPS spinning reel and the "free" IM-8 XPS rod for $49.94 (you save $100.00) and also the Shimano Spirex reel for $39.88 (you save $20.00). Any one with opinions on the quality of these products? Thanks for the input!! Mickey

The spirex reel is the smoothest reel i've ever owned. It's a steal for that price. I'm glad you posted this so that I can buy a couple more of them.

The reels are great - comparable to the $92 pinnacle deadbolt limited. Rods are only OK to loan your brother in law. BUT, Ourdoor World in Grunee, IL ran out of stock the first day od the sale. Get your rain checks now or wait for them to offer this super deal again in December.

I called BASSPRO, they did'nt have the Spirex reel on sale and said it must be an in store special, let me know who to get a hold of with phone no.

Must have to watch the sales, I picked up an xps 54hs b.p.s. extreme rod on mar. 3 for 100.00,got home and saw them on the web site for 59.99.I've dealt with b.p.s. for years, and there usually good but I tried to get a credit,for a later purchase, no luck (auburn hills or springfield}. The spirex is a great reel for the money. good luck

I phoned to only to find out that it was only through the one store, coincides with the fishing classics show or something...Oh well....guess I'll have to spend that money on the girlfriend...
