I'm having trouble finding the Wavetamer bags in the Mpls area.Who stocks them and whos got the best pricing? What size works best on a deep 17 1/2 foot glass walleye boat.Do these bags really work better than the Drift Master bags.I'm tired of them NOT opening up and turning them self inside out,not to mention if your wife drops one over the side they sink like a brick. Thanks

I was at Gander Mountain on Friday and they had a couple dozen on the shelf. Also, Cabela's is carrying them.

I have a 16.6' Lund and use the 30" bag. It works great under all conditions. I can run it off the bow or side and have yet to find a situation that I could not handle. You would be better served to get 2 30" bags instead of one big one.

You will eliminate all the frustrations you listed. IMHO

Here's something I posted at the other Wave Tamer posting..If you already have a drift bag that doesn't perform get the sewing machine oiled up and increase the floatation at the top of the opening, increase the weight at the bottom of the opening, and sew in a grommet or two in the top side of the bag half way back to let the captured air out. I gave my old drift bag to my brother-inlaw and he did these modifications and it works as good as mine. Lets just say that wasn't the case when I had it Might save you a couple agate stones ...Good luck...SkeeterBoy

I have been looking for the Wave Tamer bags on the web, and can't seem to find them. I would really like to know the prices before I buy, and the Wave Tamer web site doesn't give prices, any help would be greatly appreciated............

Call Dave at Anglers Supply 402-592-3788 Omaha,NE was there today and he has them in stock. I have 1 large bag and 2 small bags and love them. They work perfect every time. Just throw them in the water and they open and don't tangle. If you haven't bought one yet give him a shout. He also has all colors of Tail Dancers and Pearl White Shad Raps. Good Luck Fishing!

I'm also having a hard time finding Wave Tamer bags in the MPLS area.I have tried the above mentioned retailers with no luck.I have found a few jumbos and smalls but no regular sizes. What Gander Mountain location did you see them at? Maple grove carries all of there other products except the drift bag.

I bought a regular at Fleet Farm in Maple Grove yesterday. They had at least 6 of them on the shelf. I didn't bother to check the additional sizes.

Interestingly enough, this Fleet Farm had all the big water stuff--planer boards, downriggers, line counter reels, snap weights--that you great lakes guys use. It was as if Fleet Farm makes one fishing display and uses itwithout change in Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, etc.

It will be interesing to see if it stays on the shelves through the season. I don't know that there is a huge Minnesota market for these things. Not that they aren't useful, but you just don't see Minnesota inland anglers using planer boards and downriggers all that often. There may be good deals to have on this stuff available later in the season if it doesn't sell.

I bought the last 40" on the shelf today(69.99)I still need to find one more. This Brooklyn Park Fleet Farm blows away anyones prices on tackle and boat accys. What size Wave Tamer Bag are you guys using.I have a 1775 Skeeter, bought the 40".The 30"(49.99)seemed to small(Fleet Farm has 6 of these left)and the 52" deluxe seemed rather large.

will any of the bags hold up if they contact the boat? i have never tried 2 smaller bags-can you run one on each side for forward trolling and still steer decently?

What do you mean "contact with the boat"? Prop? No bag will put up with teaming up with the prop. 2 of the 30"dia. bags will work on a bigger boat, but only use 1 for smaller boats. The location depends on conditions and wind direction, always deploy the bag into the wind. Hope this helps.
