I am going to be spooling my trolling rods with Power Pro line this year and was wondering if I should use the 10lb or 20lb. Will be used for both cranks and planer boards. Thanks in advance for everyone's advice.

I've been running PowerPro for a couple years and love the stuff! For my board rods, I use the 30#. It's the same diameter as 8# and seems to come real close to matching the dive charts in the Precision Trolling guide. Good Fishing, Sluggo

8-30 here, too. Used it last year on linecounters with & without boards. Used a 7-foot, 10-pound test fluorocarbon leader in front of the crankbait, had no problems, and was pleased with the number of fish caught.

Is Power Pro line available in bulk anywhere?

Same here, the 30 lb test works out well for the dive curves on the crankbaits chart in PT. Great line, you'll love it.

Same here. I put 30lb on my 27LC reels and catch everything from perch to walleye to trout--small and large fish. Very versatile.

I use 20lb and like it for flatlining and off the downrigger. I have never had the main line break on me and also use it for catching lake trout. The leader always breaks or snaps at the uni-to-uni knot. 30lb will work great but you will not be able to get as much line on your reel.

I also use 10lb on my spinning reel but would not recomend using it for serious trolling. Its very thin and after scratching/scraping/hitting structure, it might fray and break.
