What lenght spinning rod gets you the most distance when casting cranks?, slip bobber rigs? I use a Shimano Spirex reel and I get good distance with a 6 foot rod, would a 7' or 8'rod be better? Thanks for the info!!!

Yeah, a 7 footer will definately give you more distance.

The rod that will give you the most casting distance is the longest rod. I was at gander mountain the other day, and they had some 35 foot rods. I suspect that with that rod and a bobber and a very large reel that you could cast about 1/8 of of a mile.
However, what is practical -- in general the longer the rod, the more casting distance you will get.
I used to fish with a lot of 5-6 ft rods. Now most of my rods are 7-8 foot.
It is tough to use rods that are longer than 8 foot - in a one piece version, simply due to ceiling heights, transport and storage issues.
If you go to multipiece rods, then 9-10 foot rods are not unreasonable.
