What size and make snap swivels do you guys use for trolling crank baits while using planer boards?

LAST EDITED ON Apr-07-01 AT 03:01PM (CST)[p]I use as small a swivel as I can get away with. Most of the time, however, I simply use a snap--no swivel. When it comes to the end of your line, less is best. Only add the swivel if line twist is an issue. And even then see if you can eliminate it in another way (tune cranks, rig worm harnesses so they don't spin, etc). When you do use swivels, make sure they're the expensive bearing swivels--not the cheap ones. Quality swivels make a huge difference.

Good luck!

Use a berkley crankbait snap. Put a small swivel about two feet ahead of the snap just incase the the hooks get fouled and the crank starts to spin.
