i was there also as a young boy,30 years ago. i was looking at going there or another lake nearby that we used to frequent and i found myself reading post about dogtooth here on wc but in the canada section of the message board.... i bet if you go to that portion of wc you will find posts about this lake, you may have to go back a ways but i heard it has big walleyes. not high numbers but nice nice walleyes! good luck let us know how you do! oh i know every season is different but when we used to go up in june we could always find ice in the crevases on the stone islands to pack our fish in to bring home but then again you cant bring all that many back anymore.

Hey Steve. Dogtooth is about 135(roughly) miles out of Fort Francis Ontario. It takes me about 5.5 hrs from Duluth, Minnesota to get there. This will be my 7th summer going up there. You go up Highway 71 on the east side of Lake of the Woods. Big walleye, but you work for your fish. I love it up there. Anyway, email for any questions you might have, maybe can help you out. Take care.

I have been there about a dozen times but not in the last 10 years. I believe there is only one resort (Dogtooth Resort) but if you are into camping, it has one of the prettiest and biggest campgrounds at Rushing River Provincial Park. There are boat landings and docks to tie up your boat at night. I was lucky enough to land a 12 1/4 lb. walleye there. It has some nice smallmouth also and you can go up a small river into Kilvert Lake where there are some lake trout.

Very small river !!!! Just look at all the prop marks on the bottom as you go through !! LOL Great area to fish and the owner of the resort is very helpful.

A friend of mine went there last year. He said he was exhausted after the first day from constantly having a fish on the line. He said you drop your jig and set the hook and reel. Time after time after time. His brother just booked 12 trips to there for this summer. His company has it's own float plane so he goes up alot.

Hey Steve, go under altavista and type in dogtooth lake. I found some stuff about it doing that.
