View Full Version : Webpage Skills
Hello,
I was curious if anyone on here had any experience with building a webpage that has Flash, and Frames in it?
If so, could you please email me?
Thank you,

What do you need?
I juse need some help on how to get an opening page to have a animated style image. Or images that fade in an out of the background and then come up to a clickable logo.
Also I just need to know how to set up a basic frame format. With a never changing left hand frame, and so that when you click the appropriate link on the left, the right frame brings up the inormation. I'd also like to know how to java scripting so a popup window will also come up.
If you could help I'd appreciate it.

Dunn,
I'd suggest downloading a trial of Macromedia's Dreamweaver. It will make doing the things you mention above MUCH easier as it will do the coding for you. It also integrates well with their other products like Flash and Fireworks. If you plan on having some dynamic content (from a database) then download Dreamwever Ultradev rather than just Dreamweaver. If you have any how-to questions after you start using it there are many online resources. A good one to start with is: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dreamweaver
Hope this helps!

meant to post the URL to download Dreamweaver too:
http://www.macromedia.com/software/dreamweaver/
Dreamweaver is made by the same company that owns the flash technology, so it integrates will with it, but I know a few people that prefer MS Frontpage, so don't be afraid to give it a whirl also. One note, once you start a website with a particular editing tool, don't change to a different one. You may find yourself starting over.

Thanks alot guys.
I use the Netscape Composer. It is good for basic pages, but for frames, flash inserts, etc. it is difficult to do.
Thanks alot again.

Dunn,
Just one more tip for you... I'm far from an expert, but I know a crappy web page when I see one... Try NOT to make the opening page/graphics too big. Dial up modem users will loose interest very quickly if it takes too long to download. After you have them there the first time, it will cache, but the first time can be a bear.
Just my .02
Thanks,
John
John,
Thanks.
I was going for the sleaker streamlined, good looking page.
