This probably an old question, but new to me.
We are in the process of selecting a seasonal campsite at the following locations.
5 miles north of Isle
Malmo
5 miles south of Garrison
Over the course of the summer fishing season, in your opinion which is the best over all location?
Thanks

John,I would recommend 5 miles south of Garrison. You have easy Access to mud, rock, sand, and gravel without traveling a great distance. The east side (5 miles north of Isle is close to rock and gravel but is a long haul to the north mud.Malmo is close to early season sand and to the north mud ,but a long way to the gravel. The 5 mile south of Garrison is by far the most centraly located and easiest to follow fish movement.Plus you can cruise hwy 169 at 70mph on two lane hwy all the way from the twin cities.Close to Brainerd and other activities as well(NOT the Casino please).Hope this helps,I have a campsite 4 miles north of Garrison at Sherwood Forest. You can purchase them for about $3000 and you own it for life.Marina and public access across the street. The kids love it, has a pool and alot of activities and its open year round.See ya on the water.

I have to agree with Camper on this one. I always launch on the west side, just south of Garrison. Easy access to the mud and gravel...which are my top two structures for summertime walleyes.

John, I agree that of the three locations you have mentioned, 5 miles south of Garrison would be the most centrally located, taking into account the entire fishing season.
Camper-
Just what is a person purchasing for the $3000?? Are they actually purchasing property, or mearly the opportunity to use the property? Who's life is that based on - mine or yours? What warranties are provided, written and otherwise, that subsequent purchasers will honor existing contracts?
Feel free to email me or post here
Thanks

Dave in Mpls. You buy a lot just as you would any other piece of property you own the title and recieve a deed from Aitken County.Lots run from $2000-$5000 on average depending on size and location. They are all privatly owned and are for sale by owner. Most are owned by fisherman or retiree's.Tax's run $36.00 a year and association dues are about $450 a year and includes electriciy, water, shower facilitys, maintanence and improvements.Season launch pass at Myr Mar Marina(protected) is $60.00,or theres also a public access next door. There is a security gate to get in and I hav'nt heard of any theft or vandelism problem ever. You can leave your boat on your lot during the week and not worry about it.My wife and kids love it,they swim, play mini golf, tennis, ect.while I fish. Our lot has paid for itself,we used to pay about $900 a year for a seasonal site elsewhere. You can use a camper a tent or build a small fish house sized cabin and sheds etc.Works Great and is cheap.Theres usually about 50 lots for sale at any one time.I think theres about 800 total.

One other plus to the west side, is the prevailing winds are generally from the west.Giving you an off shore wind most of the time. You also get the Blue Goose!
