Cabela's announced today (posted on Winnipeg Free Press website) that they are purchasing SIR Sports in Winnipeg. Should be interesting for the local fishing equipment stores.
Yup, a buddy emailed me the story this morning from the Free Press online.....personally can't wait till we can order directly in Canada and likely save some hassles with duty, exchange, etc. I chatted with a Cabelas CSR this AM and asked when we might expect to see Cabelas products in the store, or better yet, when could we call in or do an internet online order thru Canada and not the USA. The CSR had no idea about the acquisition, they only knew about a Montreal store opening sometime in 2008......go figure!
