I know this will stir up a mess, but here goes. get the best ones that you can afford. remember that the downrigger is a rod, and line holder, that keeps your bait at a given depth. it dont make a bit of difference that it cost a hundred, or 3 hundred dollars. make sure that it will hold a 8 or 10 pound ball, has a counter spool for cable out(depth). if you are looking for the electric riggers, then it is a different story. to be completely honest with you for the central basin, in most cases you really dont need a set of downriggers, but if you like to fish for steelies, they can be nice. most of the time here(central basin) we dont use them much at all, if any. mine havent been on the boat for 4 years now. if you have any questions at all just call me at the shop. good luck and good fishin.
