I was thinking of getting one for crappie and walleye fishing what do you guys think about that sonar?

Very good sounder. But it is a video sounder. NOT water proof, so it needs to be used in sheltered situation. Shelter also helps viewing the screen -- in direct sunlight you won't be able to view the screen.
I have used video sounders for over 10 years, but always in big water boats -- 20'+ hulls with good freeboard and either a cuddy cabin or sheltered center console to house it.
