Hi folks, anybody know if the ice is off Big/Little Lake Vermillion? We're supposed to leave on May 16th for the opener, but with the late spring, we want to know if we should start making other plans. Thanks for the "heads up" !!

Are you talking about Little Vermilion near Red Lake?

The long range forecast for there has a lot of days in the 50's and 60's plus rain and wind. You should be good. At least I hope so, I am going to the same area 8 days after you.

Im following the weather also. What weather soarce are you looking at? The one I come up with on Sioux Lookout area has highes 48-50 through sat and Sunday with 55. Lows ranging around 24-28. Mostly sunny through Sunday with no mention of rain. We all know how often the weatherman is right, so could be just matter of opinion what they are predicting for the next few days?

The Little V' North of Red; South part of the lake is open. Middle Narrows to the Top is ice'd in. Rivers are flowing in and both are open. Perhaps this weekend we'll have ice out.

My name is Eriq, not terry. Brett, the owner of sportsman lodge, let us know yesterday on what the verdict was; I think terry was the one whom gave the report. We are heading up on sunday (*crosses fingers*), hoping for some monster post ice pike. Perhaps a walleye or two on the opener later on in the week.

Weather dot com is where I go. They seem to be the most "positive". :)
