Just got off the phone with lowrance.I had a problem with my Navionics maps going blank when zooming in and out and not seeing any contours. So the guy from the tech. dept..Told me to take out the MMC card that had MapCreate on it.Then just put in the Navionics one in.
Next he told me to hold the pages button and push power, keep holding the pages until the logo gets off the screen.
That reboots the system. Then what you should have is a map of the United States. Then but the cursor on the boxes that are around the maps that you have and zoom in.You should see the contours,it only goes to 1.6 miles which isn't bad. He said what might be happening is that the unit maybe trying to read both cards. One down side to all this is that you'll have to reset a lot of stuff, but your waypoints stay on which is a good thing.
So if you call Lowrance they should help you with this.
It helped me.
Good luck and tight lines.

i formatted my original issue mmc to do my update with and so now it's empty. i have the 1.6 version in my unit and with only the mmc that i have my lakes on in the unit it brings up the lakes i want and i can zoom down to 4.23 miles(navionics screen)but once im there i cant zoom any further or back out without losing all data. oh by the way the mmc that i have my five lakes on... the one i bought from navionics(16mb) it will zoom down to .53miles,and the girl at nav. told me that other charts they have can zoom down to .1 miles and those increments match lowrances. i'm very interested to see how all this turns out. even through all this im still sold on lowrance. this wont turn me away, they make a great user friendly product!

Got my maps today, Lake Winnebago, Butte de Mort-Winniconnie-poygan, Castle Rock and Little Bay de Noc. Put it in and turned on the Navionics map option and there they be. I didn't seem to have any problem viewing maps, I could pan in any direction while zoomed in. The only thing I noticed was that I could only zoom in to 1.06 miles on Winnebago and .56 on the Castle Rock - it wouldn't let me zoom in any farther. I called Navionics and they said that is the way they made the maps, Some maps will have different zoom limits (I thought that was kind of dumb).

A big reason for me buying the Navionics maps was to get the detail at .1 mile. If the mapping software will not allow me to get the .1 to .5 mile detail I really have no use for the maps and will be sending mine back for a refund. I ordered four maps (Winnie, Leech, Mile Lacs and Vermilion) and have not had a chance to use them as of yet. I was NOT told that these maps would have a limited zoom capability when I bought them.
Another feature I was hoping to use was to look at the contour's on my computor and possibly position fishing waypoints and routes while at home, to try next time on the water. If we can not upload these to our computors it will diminish a lot of their precieved value. I have a feeling that Navionics and Lowrance will get the problems fixed. The X-15 seems to be an excellent machine otherwise.

FHS HotMaps by Navionics are created using Fishing Hot Spots maps as our data source and they accurately show the data in the scale it was made by Fishing Hot Spots on their paper map.
Some HotMaps have a better maximum zoom level than others, depending on the paper map source data scale. For example, a paper map with a 1:10,000 scale (very detailed map), in electronic chart format will have more zoom levels than a less detailed map of a smaller scale, which could be l:20,000, l:40,000, etc.
Navionics customer service representatives have maximum zoom level information for each HotMap. Please call 1-800-848-5896 to find out the best available zoom range to determine if the HotMap you want fits your needs.
Keep in mind that most units can overzoom the chart information at least once, giving you greater flexibility with each HotMap and for greater positioning for your fishing needs.
Please! Give us a call at 1-800-848-5896 if you have any questions.

aaron,i sure hope it gets better than this or you might enjoy an initial blast of business followed by drought. to veiw one of these maps at 1 mile or even .53 is not good enough. i hope you, and lowrance, and fishing hot spots, get together to work out a way to zoom into .1 miles on these maps without losing the picture. and i would sure hope that you guys could find a way to veiw these maps on our pc's like the other gentleman said. at twenty five dollars per map this is a stretch at seventy-nine dollars per map i think you guys are dreaming

I think that Navionics & Lowrance should first concentrate on fixing the problem of losing the map on the screen in the first place. Opening to many problems without fixing them first will just cause more problems. Fix the screen problem first Aaron, please, and soon.
