Has anybody used the new Berkley whiplash yet? Would you recommend it for trolling bottom bouncers and trolling with a downrigger? How about jigging?
Thanks for the help.

I've been using Whiplash for three years. It is super line to use on Dipsye Divers, but make sure the leader from Dipsey to lure is mono and that you have a rubber snubber. It is also a great line for bait casting -- bass and muskies. With heavy muskie lures, the only decent knot is Palomar -- otherwise you will break off at the knot due to no stretch in the line (too much shock). I would not and do not use Whiplash for my downrigger rods. With downriggers I use Berkley Big Game.
For bottom bouncing, you can't beat Whiplash. It is a great line. My only problem is that very few outlets in my area carry Whiplash. Fireline is everywhere, but not so with Whip.
Good fishing.

I use Whiplash for trolling and casting but not for jigging its too tough to break off snagged jigs. I fell it is has everything Fireline has ecept the kinks and the proublems with knot tieing. If you like Fireline you will love Whiplash.

I use 20# whiplash for everything but trolling cranks. If you like the stuff you better stock up because as I understand it Berkley is going to discontinue it except for 50lb+. I guess Berkley now owns spiderwire and they feel the products overlap. In my opinion they are keeping the wrong one! I'll almost bet they remarket whiplash under the spiderwire name as a new variety. Spiderwire has the name recognition.
