I've been reading with interest the recent threads on some of the regional glass boat builders and I have to say that I am glad I went with my gut instinct and bought a Tuffy.
I did have a warranty issue early on with the boat (a small area of crazing) but this is how Tuffy handled it:
Darryl Wiehert, their G.M., drove three hundred miles, picked up the boat, took it back to the factory and fixed the problem. A week later he brought the boat back to me, not only with the crazing expertly repaired, but the entire boat recarpeted (because Darryl noticed some areas where the UV stabilizer was failing.) They had also repaired several gelcoat nicks and gouges that I had not noticed and they moved a couple of fittings at my request. Total cost of repairs and alterations--Nada, Zippo.
That was two seasons ago and I have to say that as long as Tuffy is building boats and backing them up with such outstanding service I will not own another make.
I hope the other builders read this and take notes. Tuffy knows how to keep customers!
