Has anyone ever used these baits with any sucess? Would like to try the bedding for my own crawlers and want to know if it is worth the money.
Thanx Fishy

Bought 3 dozen on a trip to Otter Tail MN last year per a tip from a guide. When the walleyes wanted crawlers, they wanted them regular, but when they didn't seem to take crawlers, they devoured the Nitros. Just goes to show there is no "miracle" bait. Did end up using them up, but one word of warning: that green crap got all over the interior of my boat and stunk to high heaven!

When fishing for Smallies on a local lake, my fishing partner and I fish both nitro and regular crawlers. Some days the regular crawlers work well, others the nitros, and then of course there's the days when neither seem to work.

I will agree with the above post about the messiness of those things. The green dye will stain anything it comes in contact with.

Resort owner "up nort" gave me a dozen to try out. Wife and I alternated between them and normal crawlers during a hot walleye bite, and didn't notice a difference either way. (Except scrubbing the green dye off everything it touched.)

Hey guys regarding the mess issue be aware that there are a lot of knock off type Nitro products out there that dye the crawlers resulting in the staining mess. Since first being introduced over a year ago, the Nitro formula has been revised resulting in just enough colorant to color the worms and limit the mess. The true Nitro product that we distrubte is not a dye! When the worms ingest the soil, they produce color from the inside out.

Yes that's true, but when the worm is cut or stabbed (i.e. by a hook) there guts spill out and stain everything! Nitro can be good, but it IS MESSY!!!

HEY RON FROM LINDY, HOW COME THEY ONLY MAKE NITRO IN ONE COLOR? I LIKE A SPICE OF LIFE, AND LIKE TO MIX THINGS UP ONCE IN A WHILE. YOU KNOW, VERSATILITY. THEY MAKE FUZZY GRUBS IN MORE THAN ONE COLOR DON'T THEY? EVEN THOUGH THEY CALL ME THE GREEN HORNET I DO NOT LIMIT MYSELF TO ONE COLOR OF NIGHTY! DOES ANYONE KNOW WHEN YOU WILL HAVE MORE THAN ONE COLOR OR IF SOMEONE ELSE DOES? WON'T THE WALLEYES GET SICK OF JUST GREEN AND BROWN? ITS KINDA LIKE GOING TO BURGER KING EVERY DAY AND ORDERING A WHOPPER. ONCE I A WHILE A GUY HAS TO CHECK OUT HIS WILD SIDE AND ORDER A CHICKEN SANDWICH. LIKE NOW YOU CAN ORDER ONION RINGS INSTEAD OF FRENCH FRIES ALL THE TIME. CHANGE IS GOOD! GREEN HORNET OUT! @@@@@@@---------->.

I think it is a bunch of hyped up bull crap If they're eating crawlers then theyr'e eating crawlers doesn't matter what color. I'll stick to the natural type thankyou.
It's like saying " I was catching em on the pole set up with an orange hook and the one set up with a pink hook I didn't have a bite on all day" Chances are the one with the orange hook was in the right place at the right time. I still use colored hooks but I think it's more appealing to the fisherman instead of the fish.
I have used the nitro crawlers and didn't notice a difference.

First year out (two years ago??), they also had red ones. Don't know if they still have those.
