I have 1999 Lund 1900 Pro-V SE. When I bought the boat I didn't go with a port side console. Well now after a year I have changed my mind and I'm having the port side console installed.

My question is, how dry is the storage area in this console. There's this very large "glove box" top access door and I'm just wondering how effective it is at keeping the water out.

I have a 1900 pro-v with twin counsels. The large clove box stays very dry but the front storage in the counsel get very wet in high waves and rain.

It is pretty good. Not perfect, of course, but pretty darn good. That console takes up some room....but the trade out is a bunch of storage gained. Humidity is generally more of a factor in that console, than water.

I'm running a 1800 dubble console the storage in the port side consloe is a nice plus . To go along with the protection my partner gets on them long runs on Erie . The front storage area is not dry!!! Spray and rain makes it really not the place to put things you would want to keep dry . The glove box is the driest place in the boat when it rains or the wind blows. I have yet to have anything even get damp in there . After a whole season of spray and rain I think ,it is going to stay that way. I hope anyway :-). I hope your passengers like the new console . I know mine due . Good luck this season .
Tight lines,

Thanks to all who responded.

I especially appreciate the tip on the "front" storage in the port console being susceptable to leaking. I'll sure keep that in mind and just use a couple of Plano 3600 (?) boxes in there.
