I am considering buy a used lund stinger with a 40 hp merc 1990 in year. Has anyone owned a lund like this or have any feedback. Priced at 4500. Good deal? Thank you!
I owned a 1990 Stinger and ran it four years. I thought it was a good boat. Depends on the fishing you do and the types of water you fish on. I fished it in tournaments and used to get wet, but never felt in danger in big water. It is easy to tow, fits in a standard garage with ease. The one thing I did not like was not having a built in gas tank. I cut a hatch in the back storage so that I could lift a tank in and out with ease and still have room to carry a second tank.
I seem to remember paying $6500 new for my rig, it had a 40hp Evinrude on it. Unless it is in perfect condition I would think that $4500 is a little on the high side for that boat. That will depend on what comes on the boat also. Trolling motors, depth finders, etc. If it has newer equipment on it that would make a difference, but remember that all electronics lose 50% of their value in a year. Good luck.
