Been thinking about a new boat does anyone have
the new (2000) 20ssv Alaskan as a Tiller.
Whats best for motor? any input welcome!
Rick
Neighbor has one with a 40hp Merc. (1999) He loves it, the only thing he doesn't like is the vinyl flooring, it keeps comming up. I think Lund needs to address this problem. Look close at it before you buy one.

Didn't know about the floor trouble, could be a problem! anyone else having any trouble with this Boot? I have a 97 pro v 1775 SE I like this boot
alot, but would like to try something bigger and
lighter. Most of the fishing I do is on Missouri river, but some times maybe (5or6)times a year would be on Oahe or some bigger lake.

If the vinyl is coming up, that would be covered by warranty. We have sold many hundreds of Lund boats with vinyl on the floor and have only seen one floor covering come loose. It was very easily repaired at the dealership.
I would tell your friend to take it in to his dealer and get it fixed. This is not a common occurrence.

I have a '99 SSV20 Alaskan and love-it !
No problems with my floor, in fact very easy to clean and dries super quick. Have a console model w/115 runs 42mph (when motor wants to run (ficht))
You will have all the room you need with a tiller.
GOOD LUCK
ps. If you buy the 20' tiller , I have a brand new
Lund SSV20 tiller cover I'll sell you cheap !-never used !!

Thanks for INFO!
I have never had a 4 stroke motor, but here they can't be beat for quietness and troble free performace. I was thinking that a 75 Merc 4 stroke
might work. What do you think? would thier be anything better?
