I need more leg room between the steering wheel and boat seat on my 1999 Cresliner 1850 SportFish. I just received my new West Marine Catalog, on page 524 they have adjustable boat seat sliders that allow 6 inch fore-and-aft travel of boat seat. Has anyone used adjustable boat seat sliders before?? Thanks for any help on this subject.-------crankman

I've never seen them, but what a great idea. Is the sliding mechanism on the floor or between seat and pedestal? I could use something like that myself. Two of my chair bases should be moved. Will monitor the responses you get. Later

It's one of the best things I put on my boat. I have 2090 Warrior 125 tiller. I have two of the adjustable seats for my boat. I slide the seat forward when I am fishing to get close to the electronics and slide it back when I am traveling.
When someone else is operating they can adjust the seat to their comfort.
Good luck from Rako-Al, see you on the hot spots.

No tilt steering?? What about cutting off the top of the seat post a little bit. Sportfish seating is too tall anyway!! Just a couple of comments. Good luck!

They work well. Have installed quite a few .
There are several brands and configurations. We have found Springfield to be our favorite.
I have had one on my boat since new.
It is a grat asset. Just right for the driver doing the steering -- and push way back, if you need more room for fishing.
Both Garlick and Springfield make great units.
The bolt patters is the same as any standard boat seat.
The one thing that happens, is that you need about 2-3 inches for the slider mechanism.
If you think that the height of your seat, currently is just right, you will need a way to make it about 2 inches shorter.
Most folks, that I know - that have installed sliders -- have them on up and down adjustable helm pedestals. Then if the seat needs to be a bit lower -- simply drop it down. On my adjustable -- it needed to be lower than "factory" so I took the top off the pedestal, and removed 3 inches off the top. Then put the top back, on and the height was just right.
go for it --- I am sure that you will get a lot of use out of it.
Take care
