I would highly recommend M&J Sports in Wausau (715-845-6259). Their service has been exceptionally great and they gave me a very good deal on my Lund. They also carry Crestliner if you want to compare with Lund under one roof. They also can special order an Eagle Trailer for your boat, which in my opinion is something I would go out of my way to get. Ask for Ray Polzer, you will not be disappointed.

When did M&J start carry Crestliners? They didn't have them last spring when I was shopping. Last year they had Lund and Alumnacraft. One thing I liked about M&J is that they had the Alumacraft and Lund side by side indoors giving you a great chance to compare.

Best price I found on a Lund was at Red's in Steven's Point with a Honda. (I wanted a 4 stroke) Had some friends buy a Lund from Plowman's in Woodruff, they have Suzuki. Another friend bought a Lund from Sports East in Madison. Starks in Pairie du Chien seems to sell a lot of them also.

If you do get a chance to compare Lund to Crestliner and you want Crestliner, call up Watercraft Sales in Three Lakes (888)546-3351. That is what I did last year and got a great deal.

Fritz, I think they just started selling Crestliner this winter. They had a very nice selection in their showroom when I was there last month. They still carry Alumnacraft too so actually you can compare all 3 under one roof.

Boy, I wouldn't blow quite that hard! I bought my Lund from M&J last year and YES the price was good. But all the trouble I've had with getting trailer set-up to waiting 6 months for my cover to jerking me around with the Prop, Blah Blah Blah. Plus their not on the water for convenience of test rides.I can tell you this, My next rig will come from Riverside in New London. Hd some work done on my last Motor and I'll say that those guys Know their s*&t. No comparison on set-up,rigging etc. Best dealer in high performance fishing boats. <;{{{{{<<( Mr.Pike

On my second Lund from M&J in /Wausau--no complaints. This one is a 1900 SE w200 Optimax. Prices competitive--they'll deal. New boat has an Eagle bunk under it and I'd highly recommend this trailer and boat combo. I've found their service to be fine, but have hd few problems with my boats. Put lots of goodies on the new rig and they called me in when boat arrived to ask where and how I wanted everything rigged. The guy in their warehouse that does the rigging (Dale) took a lot of time with me to make sure everything was just the way I wanted it. Found Ray and Tom Polzer to be helpful. Dealt with Ray on this boat.
They did a good job for me.

If your concidering Crestliner, give the Boat Depot in Minong, WI a call.(1-877-841-4804) It's a new dealer, but the owner is taking his rep for cutomer service from his old dealership of several years ago into the new one. You'll like the service you'll get here. It should only take a couple years for the Boat Depot to be northern WI's premiere dealership.
If you're comparing, look at the specs on the 3 your looking at. Lund and Alumacraft are going in reverse as far as weight with the double hulls to try to hold them together. I have an Alumacraft 190 SC, but my new boat is a Tuffy. If you look at Tuffy's specs, I think you'll be suprised. The Boat Depot handles these, too and they are outselling the Crestliners just from visual comparisons.
As soon as I can swing it, the Alumacraft will go and there'll be 2 Tuffys in my driveway. I can't imagine going back to aluminum and the craftmanship in the Tuffys is just plain outstanding! Find one someplace and take a couple days to look at them. That's all it takes.

Oops. Got carried away. Our local Lund dealers are H&H Marine in Superior,WI and Iron River Sport and Marine in Iron River,WI. From what I've heard, they both have good service reps. H&H is an older dealership than Iron River.

Hey Mr. Pike, You jumped on me pretty hard for just stating my experience. Sorry to hear you had problems, but if there are any skeptics, let me be more specific. About 3 years ago I had a Mariner outboard on my Lund from M&J Sports. While in the middle of a family vacation in northern Wisconsin, about 3 hours from dealer, my throttle/gear box locked up and I could not put motor in gear. I thought my vacation was ruined. I called up M&J Sports just before closing time and was told that if I could run my boat down to them the next morning they would take care of it right away. I was there when they opened and they took me right in, put a brand new gear box on, and I was back up north fishing again by that afternoon. All covered by warranty.

Well, Mariner must have had some bad gear boxes that year because about a year later I had the same thing happen again. It was a Saturday and a special friend had made the trip just to go fishing. I thought our outing was ruined. I was only a half hour away from M&J Sports so I went there thinking I would just drop off my boat on the way home and pick it up at a later date. Incredibly, they took my boat in right away even though I had not called ahead, put on a brand new gear box again at no cost even though I was past warranty, and my buddy and I were out fishing again that afternoon. He even caught 2 10 pound fish that day! I read plenty of posts here from people whose boats are off the water for many weeks at a time for service problems, so I am truely excited to report this exceptional service. Ray Polzer sold me my boat and he helped me through these problems both times in a very friendly manner.

When I am due for winterizing I just call ahead and make an appointment. My wife drives the hour there, they do the service while she shops for a few hours and then she picks up the boat all ready to go home, all in one easy trip. We don't have to fool around leaving it there and making two trips.

Finally, before I bought my Lund I shopped price at 6 places in Wisconsin and M&J Sports topped everyone else on their first offer. I agree with the other post that they have one of the best set-up men in the business. I am very particular about quality and they truely do a great job. I could go on but you get my point by now. I do wish you well Mr. Pike, I have enjoyed some of your other posts.

Didn't Mean To Blast You Personally(not my style)! Just don't think that I got what I paid for.My father buys from M&J also. I will admit that I am one Picky SOB. But if you read my above post you can (I hope) understand my lack of entheuseasm for them. Pricewise, I too walked out smiling. But when I had my first problem only 20 miles down the road, I thought" O NO "
I am extremely GLAD that you have received the treatment that you did from them,we all should be so lucky. I'll stop now. I hope I don't or didn't sound lke a complete jerk? Just a picky SOB.<;{{{{<<( Mr.Pike

Have you tried McCurdy's in Kenosha? I bought my Pro-V there a few years ago and got a good deal and excellent service too. I went past there on the way home tonight and they're having a HUGE sale - some nice boats in the lot & a clearance sale on lubes, oils and other engine care type stuff.

No Mr. Pike you were not lucky, you got the best of what we have to offer our customers and work hard to do so. At times, a busy store can create a situation where someone might not get the personall service that 99.9% of our customers get but most wait patiently and give us the chance to make it right. Others just complain anonymously and never give us the chance to provide the service that we are known for.

thank you

No problem Tom, I take most of this stuff with a grain or so of salt. I do know the caliber of dealer you guys are! I will see you in the future when shopping. Also just so you know, When I talked to a Merc rep a few years ago. They told me that nobody does better work on the v-6 outboards than you guys. Pretty nice compiment in my book! Question; If I need any warranty work done on my Merc, Would you mind me bringing it to you INSTEAD of taking it to M&J???? Let me know. <;{{{{<<( Mr.Pike

I wouldn't knock any of the reps mentioned. But Zachos in Eau Claire beat any of the other mentioned dealers.

I suppose it depends on who you talk to and when. They came in as the highest priced of 6 dealers for me but maybe they are more recently better motivated to deal. Bottom line is it pays to shop around and compare but in the end try to work your best deal wherever you think you will get the best service.
