I'm gonna be fishing Little spirit and Loon lake in Jackson co. Anybody been there done that. I know they are small and shallow but I've always wanted to fish them. Any secrets that I should know before I get there in a few weeks.

Wow, someone coming to our area to fish. Well I took a Jackson Co lake tour and I am sorry to say that it does not look good. We have some winter kill on most lakes. I don't know how it will effect the over all fishing but Loon Lake did have the one of the highest oxygen level's this winter. If you have fished these lakes in the past I'm sure you have experience some great fishing at times. Lakes are full and running out the dams so putting in boats should not be a problem. Dood luck!

How deep is Loon LAke is it fairly shallow, Is it stocked each year with walleyes, I once tied into a good sized pike from shore so I would enjoy to fish it again, does it get much fishing pressure!

WOW there is someone there that answered me, I am supprised. Ther is a reason that I am going there though. I live in Austin,Mn. and my in-laws live in NW Ia. they Always get a Mn. license so we will go to their place and then fishing from there. We camp at the camp grounds between Pearl Lake and Loon Lake in Aug. but fishing ain't to good that time of the year. I think we will start on Loon in the morning and if thats not good we will go to Little Spirit for a while. Might see you there? Good Luck Wile E.

David, I found out all that I know about Loon from http://www.cabelasoutdoors.com or info@dnr.state.mn.us but i think they had a map that you can download and 6' was about all there was there and they do stock it with walleye and at the dnr site you can find out how many and for how many years. You can also find all kinds of things out for every lake in Mn. but you might need to know what county they are in. Do you live in spirit lake (the town)? good fishing Wile E.
