I have a Garmin-GPS12, My question is this, I have the cables, to send my info to the computer although I don't know what soft- ware to get or use. We go to Canada fishing in the fall and I have many waypoints on my GPS. Most of the software I have seen is for big lakes in Canada or the United States. I am not sure that the small lakes we fish are on any soft-ware. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I believe you need to have a version of the Garmin MapSource software in order to interface with your PC. This is the software on any of the map CD's they sell. As a note, the CD's seem to have older versions and free upgrades are avaialable at the Garmin site. I've upgraded 3 times since I bought mine--both the software and the operating system on the unit.

No help for you, tip jig, I'm in the same boat. If anyone knows of gps maps or software that has Lake St. Joseph in NW Ontario (about 90,000 acres, so it's no pond), I'd sure like to know about it. John.

Oziexplorer.
This is an awsome programe that i have been using for about a year now. You can scan any map you have of an area and load it into the program. Then all you need is three known gps waypoints on that map, enter them into the program and you are set. I have used it with topo maps of areas i hunt in and lakes i fish in.
Here is the link to their homepage.

If you have any trouble finding it e-mail me and i can get it for you at a store close to me.
Good luck
