We've been in touch will all those that watch and predict the river in Dubuque along with Lawrence Echler who ran the Team Walleye tournaments this weekend.

Water levels are already above current predictions for tomoroow. But more importantly, there has been a significant increase in debris.

Lastly, it's likely that pool 12 will be closed by the coast guard on Tuesday or Wednesday.

We will postpone the Dubuque tournament subject to available dates.

We're working on finding dates rigtht now that will give anglers plenty of time to work their schedules and that would be approved by the Iowa DNR.

More to come as details get worked out.

I'll be returning messages and making phone calls most of the day to anglers.

Hi Pete,
I'm sitting in Kevin Oyen's office right now and was here when you phoned him to cancel the tournament. I feel you made the right call.

With the uncertainty of the river closure it's hard to make a decision.

Without all the facts someone had to step up to the plate and you did just that.

We drove all the way from Colorado to fish the tournament and still feel it was the right decision.

The Mississippi River Walleye Club was ready to put on a great tournament and when the rescheduled dates are set I'm going to try to fish this one just to be a part of it.

We're headed to Spring Valley now, we're gonna catch something!!

We're working on dates now. We have to work with the Iowa DNR, the Mississippi River Walleye Club and the service crews and sponsors.

I would hope we'd have it figured out no later than the end of the week. But walleyecentral readers will be the first to know.

Pete,
I think it would be a good idea to do it in august. Probably twoards the end of august would be a good idea. Just my opinion. I don't know what every body else thinks.

Good luck working with the Iowa DNR. Doubt if you will get anything in August. Probably could get a Permit and launch on the other side of the river, but expect IDNR to ban any tournament anglers from fishing on the Iowa side--whether they enforce it or not will be up to them-but don't be surprised if they do.

Hi,
I don't think that the tournament should be rescheduled to september because the pepin tournament is the 18 and 19th
that wouldn't work out to good!
