Between my eyes and the occasional rough water those knots are hard to tie. Seems like most of the time I use a Palomar.
Palomar is simple, I just have trouble getting the line doubled through the eye.
Do any of those knot tyers real help? And if so, which one specifically whould you recommend.

I am *not* usually a "gadget" person, but.....
I don't know the name of the knot-tier I use (bought a couple of them at the Northwest Sportsmens Show). It's a brass device, about the size of a thin ballpoint pen. Comes with instructions for tying about a dozen popular fishing knots, but I just use it for 3 or 4 of my favorites.
Simple to use (takes about 5 minutes to learn how) and it ties a good solid knot every time.

I believe I see in the catalog (Cabela's page 91, master spring 2001) the one you refer to.
My specific use would be threading the eye. Does the one you refer to help with that?
On the same catalog page there is a Moodus sports tool. The description would seem to make this a choice for my use. However, not sure if the line doubling with the palomar knot would work with it.

I have one, it's called the Tie-Fast. Ibought it at the fleet-farm in plymouth, wi. i only use it for multiple worm harnesses. i wouldn't be able to do so without. maybe you're looking for a heavy duty needle threader. check out the sewing shops. the polymer is the easist knot to tie, the line Is the problem. clean cut wanted
I have the same problem,so I run the line
thru 6-8 in, then back thru the eye the
other way. Then you have the double line.
make's it easy for old men///
