Wanted to let those of you that use planer bds know that the new Offshore release is AWESOME!

I used them for the first time last week at the RCL and I am sold!!!
It's simple to use, grips in all wave conditions, no problem with cold hands and works with lead core as well.

The cam-type mechanism makes setting the boards quick and for those that had never used them before it was far easier to clip these than the old red clip.
Very solid Bruce! I think you really hit a home run with this one!
Had one board completely buried and it didn't pull line through it! I would suspect that braid would work with this clip as well!
Try it and you'll switch em all over to it!

Hey Eric,
I have not seen these new releases. Are they for the inline boards or masts. They don't have anything on there website about them.

They are for the in line boards. You can find them in the new Off Shore Release paper that you can pick up for free from the Off Shore website. There is an article and picture of them in the new paper. There is also an order form in the paper if your interested in trying them out.
I also tried them for the first time this past week, and was really impressed with them. When your hands get cold they are a lot easier to operate than the squeeze type releases. I still use the OR-16's for the back clip, but have switched all my front clips to the new OR-18's. Not only do they work great, but you are now able to use them two ways. By flipping the lever forward you can lock the line in place behind a pin that comes down, and by flipping it back to lock it, it allows the line to be released when your fishing for say...salmon or big stripers. The Snapper release is a pretty cool device. I hope you check them out.

Thanks for the help on that Juls!

Got into a meeting that went late, or should I say went the way you expect them to... late and couldn't reply.

I will go with the church tackle boards myself, I think a truly outperform anything offshore has. I look at overall performance of the board and the releases,(just not the releases) and the Roach boards are truly the best.
